ABOUT

For 50 years, the Aztec Boys Girls Club has served the youth and families of Aztec and the surrounding area. Every day, our members enjoy programs meant to build strong character, healthy bodies and sharp minds.

Our Club facility contains a dual basketball court, outdoor playground, a game room, a technology lab, art room, and Teen Space. Our Club serves members ages 6 years old through high school.

Our youth are members, with the responsibilities and benefits of membership in an active community organization!  Volunteerism, sportsm
anship, leadership and kindness are valued.  We are building the next generation.

OK, but what about the raffles and the OTHER things the Club does?

While our membership fees are low, these programs have costs, which we fund through grants, donations, community support and raffles.  From our little Club in our small New Mexico town, our raffles have become world famous!

What is more, the funds raised support the larger community!  A 2016 study, conducted by the University of Michigan, estimated that every $1 invested in a Boys & Girls Club returns $9.60 in earning and cost savings to the community!  This means our local Club is worth more than $3,000,000 annually to Aztec and the surrounding area!

Our Raffles, golf tournament, donors, and friends all help make it possible.

Without YOU, there is no Club.

Our Mission:

Our purpose:

“To promote decency and prevent delinquency through services geared toward the physical, mental and moral well-being of young people.”

Our 5 Core Program Areas

  • Education & Career
Supporting learning and encouraging growth, our programs help youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement.

  • Character & Leadership
Helping youth become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process is the main thrust of these programs. They also help develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to Club and community and celebrating  our national heritage.

  • Health & Life Skills
These initiatives develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self sufficient adults.

  • The Arts
Programs in this core area enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.

  • Sports, Fitness and Recreation
These Club programs help develop fitness, a positive use of leisure time, reductions of stress, appreciation for the environment and social and interpersonal skills.
